The DOLISOS Homeopthic Pharmacology Laboratories were created by Jean Tetau in France, in 1937. Tetau was a pharmacist with a family background in homeopathy. Dolisos specializes in the production and distribution of homeopathic medicines, obtained mostly through prescripions. The word DOLISOS is of Greek origin, DOL - pain, and ISOS - similar. In light of its activities, the name DOLISOS is appropriate since homeopathic treatment is based on the Law of Similars.
The DOLISOS laboratories have considerably expanded during the past ten years, in France and throughout the world. In 1987, the Montrichard plant, centerally located in France, produced forty million tubes of homeopathic granules, as well as 100,000 liters of mother tinctures. This ultra-modern plant, covering an area of 50,000 sq ft. boasts the very latest in production and monitoring facilities. This plant supplies all the subsidiraries and distributors throughout the world with finished products and the active ingredients necessary for preparations. This is carried out under controlled conditions in accordance with sound Good Manufacturing Practices. This same concern can be seen in their subsidiary distribution of homeopathic medicines. There are 1,200 employees, including 60 pharmacists, throughout the world.
Through subsidiaries, located in Belgium, Canada, Spain, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, and the U.S.A., and distributor in numerous other countries (Australia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Pakistan, Portugal, to name a few), DOLISOS Laboratories continuously strives to reinforce the international presence of French Homeopathy and thus contribute to the development of Hahnemann's doctrine. DOLISOS believes homeopathy today must be open to the expectations of modern doctors, and must be ready and willing to answer the questions being asked by a growing public. Dolisos customer relationships based on trust are being reinforced through increasingly effective service.
DOLISOS is considered the world's leading "investor" in homeopathy, with the establishment of eight subsidiaries (Belgium in 1964, Italy in 1980, USA in 1982, Spain and Holland in 1983, Canada and Switzerland in 1986), as well as the signing of numerous distribution agreements. Instigated by Dr. Tetau in 1978, DOLISOS was the first Homeopathic Laboratory to establish independent research which has continued to grow and diversify. Anticipating a current trend in pharmaceutical research, DOLISOS then began creating university/industry links. Today there are 20 teams in 15 medical centers in France, Belgium, Italy and the USA who are researching the effectiveness of homeopathic dilutions to better understand their action mechanisms.
